What You’ll Be Doing as a (Junior Client Accountant)
- Manage financial lifecycles for a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial estates.
- Formulate precise annual service charge budgets and ensure correct cost apportionments.
- Execute periodic billing for ground rents, service charges, and utilities.
- Produce year-end accounts and coordinate with external auditors for final review.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify opening balances for new estate transfers.
- Deliver quarterly management reports featuring cash flow and budget variance analysis.
- Track monthly performance indicators and align internal fees within property software systems.
- Resolve leaseholder financial enquiries and action requests from AGM minutes.
- Process developer void charges and ensure energy billing cycles are precise and timely.
What We’re Looking For
- Junior Client Accountant candidates must have a firm grasp of accruals and prepayments.
- High numerical accuracy and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with mail merges.
- Excellent time management to meet strict accounting deadlines.
- Professional communication skills for liaising with clients and Estate Managers.
- Background in service charge environments or property-specific accounting software is highly desirable.
- Collaborative mindset to support the wider Finance and Business Development teams.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Service Charge Accountant
- Compiling comprehensive quarterly management reports, focusing on cash flow tracking and detailed variance analysis.
- Formulating annual expenditure forecasts and ensuring costs are split correctly across the portfolio.
- Coordinating the preparation of year-end certificates and acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Performing routine bank reconciliations and maintaining the accuracy of all financial ledgers.
- Partnering with Property Managers to provide financial clarity and resolving complex billing enquiries from clients and residents.
- Executing precise month-end duties, including the calculation and posting of prepayments and accruals.
- Overseeing the administration of corporation tax requirements and the recharging of utilities and insurance premiums.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently a part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA equivalent).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within a dedicated finance or accounting function.
- Must have previous experience in service charge accounting.
- A robust grasp of double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliation processes, and period-end accounting.
- High-level competency in Microsoft Excel; experience with property management software is a distinct advantage.
- The ability to translate complex financial data into clear information for non-finance colleagues.
