We’re working with a respected property business in search of a detail-driven, organised Senior Client Accountant to provide maternity cover within their finance team. This is a full-time, fixed-term role based at their London office, offering fantastic exposure to diverse client accounting responsibilities — with the potential for a longer-term opportunity following the initial contract.
As a Senior Client Accountant, you’ll play a central role in managing arrears, supporting rent guarantee administration, handling multi-entity bookkeeping, and maintaining key relationships with clients and councils. This role suits someone who is confident working independently, loves problem-solving, and brings accuracy and initiative to everything they do.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Client Accountant:
This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. Core responsibilities include:
- Managing regular payment runs, account statements, arrears reporting and client communications for a large property portfolio
- Coordinating rent guarantee policies, including renewals, adjustments, cancellations and reconciliations
- Liaising with local authorities regarding housing benefit and tenant payments
- Handling queries and reporting requests from landlords and residents
- Chasing rent arrears across multiple portfolios, arranging payment plans and escalating where necessary
- Providing full bookkeeping support for a multi-company property portfolio using Xero
- Supporting month-end reporting, reconciliations and year-end prep across several client accounts
- Maintaining clean and accurate financial records across all client entities

What We’re Looking For
✅ At least 3 years’ experience in a client accounting or property finance role
✅ Solid knowledge of Xero and confident handling multi-entity bookkeeping
✅ Hands-on experience with arrears management, credit control or debt collection
✅ Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
✅ Strong Excel and reporting capabilities
✅ Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and juggle priorities
✅ Confident communicator with a proactive, professional manner
✅ Experience with insurance products (e.g. rent guarantees) is a plus
✅ Solid knowledge of Xero and confident handling multi-entity bookkeeping
