What You’ll Be Doing as a Life Insurance Underwriter
- Checking mortgage requests for both homes and rental properties to see if they meet our rules.
- Looking at tricky files manually as a Mortgage Underwriter to find ways to say “yes” safely.
- Reading through pay slips, bank records, and property reports to confirm all the facts.
- Talking to brokers and agents to get missing info and help move applications forward.
- Managing your own list of tasks to make sure customers get their loan offers on time.
- Watching out for dishonest applications or high-risk signs to keep the business safe.
- Suggesting new ideas to make the application journey smoother as a Mortgage Underwriter.
What We’re Looking For
- Past experience working as a Mortgage Underwriter in a lending environment.
- Good knowledge of the mortgage industry and the basic rules for lending in the UK.
- The ability to look at data and make a firm choice on whether a loan is a good idea.
- Friendly and clear communication skills when dealing with professional partners.
- Someone who stays organised even when there are lots of files to handle as a Mortgage Underwriter.
- Great focus on the small details to make sure all paperwork is correct and follows the law.
- A Mortgage Underwriter who likes being part of a team and helping others succeed.
