What You’ll Be Doing as a Life Insurance Underwriter
- Reviewing life and health insurance applications to decide if we can provide cover based on medical and financial data.
- Supporting the wider team by checking work quality and helping others grow their technical skills.
- Using your expertise as a Life Insurance Underwriter to handle more difficult or high-value cases.
- Looking for better ways to work so that customers get their insurance decisions faster.
- Working closely with managers to make sure the team follows the right risk guidelines.
- Explaining complex decisions clearly to financial advisers and partners.
- Making sure every applicant is treated fairly and that all records are kept up to date.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience working as a Life Insurance Underwriter in the UK market.
- A background in assessing medical reports, GP letters, and financial evidence.
- The ability to coach or mentor newer staff to help them reach the level of a Life Insurance Underwriter.
- A clear communicator who can talk through tricky decisions with confidence.
- Someone who is self-driven and enjoys working as part of a professional, hybrid team.
- A good understanding of the rules and regulations that look after insurance customers.
- A Life Insurance Underwriter who is keen to keep learning and stay on top of medical and industry trends.
